english RSV halt merger talks with GSTT

The association's meeting voted to break off the talks, but ensured that the proposed resolution was amended.

The RSV board - Andreas Haacker, Benedikt Stentrup and Volker Neubert - had told the members at the beginning of July not to continue the merger talks. They had expressed concerns after a meeting between the boards that personal sensitivities could jeopardize the positive effects of a merger.

The members ensured in the assembly meeting in early September that the door remains open for future decisions.

The merger with GSTT generated discussion and a constructive compromise. The board's proposal not to continue the merger talks was followed by the members with one important condition: they should not be stopped, but only "put on hold until further notice". The proposal was approved by 36 of 38 votes. One member abstained.
