english – Sewer renovation prevents increase in fees - an example
Good news for citizens of a municipality in the Upper Palatinate: Because the sewer can be renovated without trenches, a fee increase has been averted for the time being.
An examination by an engineering firm revealed that the more than 50-year-old combined watewater sewer in the municipality of Theisseil was in better condition than expected. Timely action - that was the judgement, because: The sewer renovation can still be carried out using the so-called inliner procedure (technical term: cured-in-place pipe lining), which means that the road does not have to be opened up anywhere.
According to ‘Oberpfalz Echo’, Mayor Johannes Kett explains why higher fees are not expected until the next fee calculation by saying that the costs for the sewer renovation will remain ‘well below’ the 150,000 euros that have already been calculated for it.
