english Successful asbestos cement webinar with 100 participants

Exciting exchange at today's AZ webinar of the RSV! Around 100 participants from trade supervisory authorities, network operators, engineering firms, municipalities and member companies learned about the sewer renovation of asbestos cement pipes – both in the area of underground pipes and in-house pipes.

The focus was particularly on the low-emission procedure BT 61, which has been approved by the IFA (Institute for the Protection of Labour) for the ‘maintenance of asbestos cement sewer pipes by means of a cured-in-place pipe lining’. Roland Fischer (ISAS GmbH) presented this procedure for underground pipes very vividly. In addition, Janes Wüstenbecker Russell (Infrafact) provided valuable insights into the sewer renovation of asbestos cement pipes in in-house applications.

The two speakers and employees of the company contracted to execute the work, Aarsleff Rohrsanierung, Christina Krüger, Gunar Springer and Daniel Becker-Hardt, were available to answer questions after the presentations. A lively discussion developed about the application limits of the BT-61 process, the installation of the preparatory work in the old sewer, the selection of the procedure, work safety when retroactively forming connections etc. The useful life and sustainability of different approaches and procedures were also discussed, as well as the revision of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance.
