Rehabilitating sewage pipes without blocking streets for months - in Dortmund, local politicians have long recognised that #trenchless is the better choice. Dr. Christian Falk, the technical director of the city's drainage department, recently reported from a meeting of the district mayors: "Whenever it is technically possible somewhere, the sewer is to be rehabilitated from the inside. The aim is to disrupt traffic as little as possible. The restrictions on traffic flows caused by digging also lead to considerable #emissions, which are avoidable thanks to underground technologies. This has now clearly reached the political arena.
